There are ENDLESS opportunities to volunteer if you'd like to get involved in our farm. Our CSA has "Volunteer Days" where we get organized to have a bunch of people come over and help us work for a few hours--and you don't have to be a member of the CSA to join the fun. We had two volunteer days in 2006 and three in 2007. Volunteer days usually involve planting transplants, mulching, or harvesting. We also had several people help harvest on CSA pick-up days or when we were out of town. Thanks to everyone for all your help! If you'd like to join our email list to know when we are having volunteer events at the farm, just email us and we'll let you know when things are going to be happening in 2007.

Although it is common at many other CSA's, there is no work hour requirement at this CSA. But we love to have you help out when you can and learn a little something in the process. I may offer other volunteer opportunities to individuals as fits their interest. Examples are: volunteers willing to use their home or business as a pick-up location for CSA shares, someone who can run a kids activity during a volunteer day, or someone who could run a CSA pick-up day when we are out of town. If you have a volunteer idea that I haven't though of, speak up and don't be afraid to ask to be more involved! I'd have to be a fool to turn you down!

Volunteer planting machines.
These amazing volunteers planted over 400 transplants in just a few hours.

Volunteer mulching machines.
After planting all those plants, they still stuck around to put mulch around them all.

Kids on a nature walk.
Besides the grueling labor, volunteer days include walks on the trail around the garden, fun for the kids, and usually some snacks to keep us going.
